Job Description:

Nanakhospitality limited operates a number of businesses including Orange Cafe and Castle Eatery & Bar in the centre of Whanganui. The company is now looking for 3 Chefs.

Job duties of the position offered –

• planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
• demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• preparing and cooking food
• explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
• may select and train staff
• may freeze and preserve foods

Requirements of the position offered -

• NZQF Level 5 Diploma or higher qualification in cookery or relevant field is required, or at least 3 years relevant work experience.
• Be available to work on weekends and public holidays as per the roster
• Flexibility to work within a 7-Days a week operation including split shifts
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with good communication skills and team spirit
• Able to work till late evenings
